It was not a long time ago when Renault Duster was launched and took over the hearts of Indian buyers. Now, the French company has unveiled its all new SUV, which will dominate the market. Earlier, it was speculated that Kadjar will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March this year, but the company has revealed it before the official ceremony. Reportedly, the car will go on sale from 2015 summer in Europe and several African countries, followed by UK and China.

As Renault said, the name Kadjar was derived from KAD and JAR. KAD means 'quad' meaning go-anywhere four-wheel vehicle and JAR in French means 'agile' which means to suddenly emerge from somewhere and represent agility. The name, however, gives an exotic feel when spelled and suggest adventure and discovering new horizons. The king SUV will be the big brother of Captur and will be a nice upgrade for people who are looking for a new and powerful utility vehicle. Also, Kadjar will be the Renault’s first vehicle that will be manufactured and assembled in China. The car has a robust exterior styling while the interiors are made sporty.

Inside, the car gets quality material and the R-link 2 multimedia system. The R-link 2 system features 7-inch capacitive color touchscreen display with voice recognition. The Kadjar is based on the Common Module Family (CMF) platform, making the Nissan Qashqai look down in shame. The car shares the design and DNA of its c-segment sibling, Captur, which is based on the design of the company’s electric car DeZir. It features soft lines, optional LED headlights and a Clio- like read-end panel. Also, the 19-inch-alloy wheels can be added to the beauty by paying an extra price. The Kadjar is bigger than Nissan’s Qashqai in every dimension, offering 42 litres of extra boot space at 472 litres with 60-40 split rear bench which come as standard. Industry experts are of a view that post launch, it will battle the Nissan Qashqai, Ford Kuga and Honda CR-V.
