BMW 5 Series

Model launch date:

The eighth-gen 5 Series was launched in India on 24 July, 2024.

Feature list:

Exterior highlights of the BMW 5 Series include sweptback LED headlamps with twin C-shaped LED DRLs, larger grille, new front and rear bumpers, fresh 18-inch alloy wheels, wrap-around two-piece LED taillights, contrast-coloured inserts all around, and a ‘5’ badging on the C-pillar.

Inside, the luxury sedan boasts of a curved dual screen setup that houses the 12.3-inch driver’s display and 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, reclining rear seats, Level 2 ADAS suite, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, Type-C charging ports, and a four-zone climate control system.

Engine, performance, and specifications:

Under the hood, the new-gen 5 Series is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The power output of this motor is rated at 255bhp and 400Nm of torque.

Variants:

The new 5 Series is available in a single, fully loaded variant called 530Li M Sport.

Safety:

The 2024 5 Series scored a five-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test.

Competition:

The 5 Series rivals the likes of the Audi A6 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB.
