Honda Brio, the upcoming compact hatchback that is slated to be launch in October this year, was recently spied testing near Noida expressway. Taking a look at the spy images of the car, it looks almost similar to the Brio model that was launched in Thailand market.
The Japanese auto giant is betting big on Brio as the car is expected to turn Honda’s fortune in the Indian auto market. With the launch of Brio, Honda will be marking its debut in the volume driven small car segment that is contributing about 70 percent of the country’s total car sales.
The car will come powered by a 1.2L petrol engine that is currently doing duties in the company’s premium hatchback Jazz. The powerful engine of Brio will be coupled with a manual transmission. Moreover, the boot space of the car will be 175L.
The Brio model is speculated to be priced in the highly competitive price segment of sub Rs 4 lakh. The car will be taking on with the likes of Chevrolet Beat,Ford Figo, Toyota Etios Liva, Maruti Swift, A-Star and Wagon R in the country.
In last one and a half year, a large number of new car models have marked debut in the volume driven small car segment that comprises of Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra, Toyota Etios Liva, etc.
