The upcoming Mahindra Global SUV, which has been codenamed as W201, is speculated to be launched in the Indian market next month on September 26th. The country’s largest SUV maker Mahindra & Mahindra has already instructed its vendors in the country to be prepared for the launch of this upcoming SUV.
It will be first time when M&M will be launching a vehicle with monocoque chassis. The SUV will come powered by a 2.2L mHawk that is transversely located. The powerful engine of new Mahindra SUV is coupled with a front wheel drive and will be carrying a maximum power output of 140 bhp along with a peak torque of 32.6 kgm. Moreover, the SUV may also be launched in a high powered (170 bhp) twin turbo version.
The new Mahindra World SUV will be blessed with a range of off-road capabilities with advance performance enhancing features such as ESP. cruise control, traction control and hill descent control.
Though the company is yet to reveal the pricing and specification details of the car, but as it will be placed above the segment of Scorpio, it would probably carry a price tag in the range of Rs 12 to 13 lakh. The SUV will be competing with the likes of Skoda Yeti and Tata Safari in the Indian market.
