Honda is renowned for its up to date technologies and outclass innovations. The company's think tank puts sheer effort in making its product reliable and an efficient performer. The car maker's petrol engine comprises iVTEC technology and the same has been lauded on global standards. Almost all of its cars prior to 2013 were equipped with the sole petrol version. But keeping up with the changing requirements of modern world, the company opted for a paradigm shift and came up with “Earth Dream” diesel engine technology. The iDTEC engine was first incorporated in the company's entry-level sedan, Amaze and the response was enthralling. People largely made a move for this car and were completely appeased by its performance. Elated with the success of this innovation, the company had decided to carry it further in its premium sedan Honda City.

Sources speculate that the current version of Honda City is believed to be out of stock across all dealerships and they are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the new generation model. The extent of popularity of the all new City is so much that the company's showroom have started taking pre-bookings of this car with a minimal amount of Rs. 51,000. Experts believe that the so called priority booking is an attempt by Honda to inflate it car's stature and once it arrives in the market, it will be welcomed whole-heartedly. Furthermore, it is also anticipated that this car is going to meet a waiting period of almost 2 months. These speculations reminds one of the time when Ford EcoSport was expected to be launched in Indian market. When this compact Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) finally arrived for sales, its dealerships were inundated with bookings. The car saw a waiting period of 3-5 months and recently the company had declared to officially close the bookings as they cannot meet the huge demand of domestic buyers.

Experts largely believe that such circumstances will not hover during the arrival of new Honda City. It happens to be the only model in mid-level sedan segment in the upcoming year. As per the latest confirmations, no other car maker is planning to launch its model in the same segment. Rumours are that other car manufacturers are also aware what kind of sales new Honda City will go through after January and they do not want to risk their creations by putting it against the Japanese car maker's design. The fourth generation will be tapped with an option of either a 1.5-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel engines. Also, it will bear minor tweaks at exteriors and interiors.

Considering the price range of the old version, the new car is expected to be in the price bracket of Rs. 7.5 lakh – Rs. 11 lakh. For such an amount, it will be directly put against its rivals of Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. All these cars have performed admirably and are still witnessing massive sales. Surpassing feats of the abovementioned models will be challenging for the new Honda City, but one should not forget that in its early days, the car was invincible in its respective segment. The lack of a diesel variant made it lag behind gradually and soon that void will also be filled. It would not be astounding if this car accomplishes unthinkable milestone but all conjectures should be saved till early January when Honda will embark on a new journey with one of its optimal creation.
