Model launch date:

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC was launched in India on 3 June.

Feature list:

On the outside, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC gets a fresh set of LED headlamps, new front and rear bumpers with chrome skid plates, roof rails, side steps, new 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, faux twin exhausts on the rear bumper, and new LED taillights.

Inside, the model gets features like an all-new interior theme, an 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity, an off-road package, a 710W Burmester-sourced music system, and a panoramic sunroof. It also gets touch-based controls all around, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, the latest MBUX NTG7 telematics connectivity, ambient lighting, and OTA updates.

Engine, performance, and specifications:

Powertrain options on the new GLC include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The latter develops 197hbp and 440Nm of torque, while the petrol motor generates 258bhp and 400Nm of torque. A nine-speed torque converter automatic transmission and a 48V mild-hybrid system producing 23bhp and 200Nm of torque are standard.

Variants:

The new GLC is available in two variants – 300 4Matic and 220d 4Matic.

Safety:

The new-gen Mercedes GLC scored a five-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. It gets safety features in the form of seven airbags, blind spot assist, active lane keep assist, active brake assist, a 360-degree camera, Pre-Safe tech, and attention assist.

Competition:

Rivals to the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC include the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and the Volvo XC60.
