      Honda Mobilio RS - expected to be a popular top-end variant post launch

      Honda Mobilio made a grand entry recently in the Indian MUV segment. Honda Mobilio coined as the perfect family car is offered at a lucrative starting price tag of about Rs 6.49 lakh, while the high end diesel version is available for Rs 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Honda Mobilio MPV is available in petrol and diesel trims namely - E, S, V and RS. Earlier this year, Honda had showcased two Honda variants at the Auto Expo event. Apart from the regular variant, Honda had also showcased the 'RS' trim at the event. Earlier news had been doing rounds that Mobilio RS is expected to be launched sometime in September this year, but there has been no confirmed update from the manufacturer in this regard.

      The RS variant is likely to sport two slats on the front grill that shall compliment the bigger front bumper. It is also anticipated that an extra dose of chrome may feature on the front as well the back of the car. The Mobilio RS shall be launched as a top end Mobilio variant and shall be powered by the existing 1.5 Liter engine. The anticipated change would be cosmetic in nature and the vehicle is likely to carry headlamps with LED DRL's and bi-focal projectors. As for the interiors, the RS is likely to be loaded with high end infotainment system, wood garnish and leather upholstery. The pricing is likely to be on a higher side and detailed report may be received at the time of its launch.

      Diesel powered Mobilio is claims to deliver segment best fuel economy in its segment. The seven seater Mobilio MPV is offered with three row layout and as expected the third row is roomier. Mobilio has been inherited with sharp and bold looks, overall the MPV has a muscular stance. Petrol range of Mobilio has been packed with a frugal 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine that churns out a maximum power output of 116 Bhp. Underpinning the extended Brio platform, Diesel variants on the other hand are housed with Honda’s efficient 1.5 litre i-DTEC powertrain that engenders a peak power output of 99 Bhp. which is again impressive.

      Recently, the RS trim was launched in Indonesia and fresh reports indicate the RS variant shall also be launch soon in India. After much wait, Honda has finally launched the car in the Indian market. While E, S and V trims will be available for sale at Honda dealerships, but the highly equipped RS variant will go on sale effective September and will be offered only in diesel option priced at Rs 10.86 lakh. Honda’s first MPV has boastful dimensions- the vehicle is 4390 mm long, 1680 mm wide, 1610 mm tall, has a ground clearance of 189 mm and brags a large wheelbase of 2650 mm. Built on the ‘Man Maximum Machine Minimum’ Philosophy, the Mobilio MPV offers ample space to the passengers and also has aplenty boot space for storing luggage. Sliding middle row option has been provided in the top end version V and RS variant for the ease of passengers.
