      Of late, Bollywood has evolved as the mainstay for car makers in India and is considered among the best mediums available for branding nowadays. From the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don to Don 2 starring Shahrukh Khan, auto makers have been influencing audience with the thrilling car sequences. Youth-centric Bollywood flicks are trendsetters and cars featuring in them cannot go unnoticed.

      Don 2, the sequel to the Don (2006), is the most recent film to join the league, setting the pulse racing with spectacular car sequences. In the teasers revealed so far, several cars like Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai Sonata Fe, BMW 5-Series and Alfa Romeo MiTo are making their appearance felt. A high-speed car chase has created buzz ahead of its official release, which shows the destruction of 67 cars. Players that is speculated to be a remake of The Italian Job, is also enticing the Indian audience with teasers of thrilling chases featuring cars like Mini Cooper, Mazda MX5 and the Chrysler 300C stretch limo.

      Movies are being used as a platform for promotion from a long time, wherein protagonist is either driving or travelling in a car that is about to make a debut in the near future. One of the ideal examples is Nissan Micra, which created an astonishing impression on Indian audience. As a result, Nissan Micra made a successful introduction in India.

      Hummer H2 played a part in the recent flick Shaitan that starred Kalki Koechlin and Rajeev Khandelwal. The movie also featured Audi A6, making it much visible among the Indian audience. Hummer H2 was also seen in Rascals, which released in October. The recent blockbuster Ready, starring Salman Khan, featured Jeep Wrangler, BMW 5 Series and E-Class Stretch Limo. Another recent hit, Bodyguard, flaunted Audi Q7 SUV innumerable times.

      Volkswagen Beetle was as impressive as Sonam Kapoor in Aisha, complementing the elite lifestyle of the actress. The trendy appeal of Volkswagen Beetle was counted on in Anjaana Anjaani too, wherein lead actress Priyanka Chopra was seen driving a yellow Beetle. Thereafter, Break Ke Baad starring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone continued Volkswagen Beetle's pursuit in Bollywood.

      Dhoom series also features a number of car chase sequences. The upcoming sequel of the film, Dhoom 3 is likely to showcase cars like Koenigsegg CCX, Ford Mustang, Nissan 370Z and some other tuned up high performance machines. Ta Ra Rum Pum failed to impress movie-buffs, but attracted the audience through the car racing. Singham, Shivaji and Robot had stunts featuring Mahindra Scorpio, showcasing agility of the sports utility vehicle.

      Bollywood celebrities and movies influence commoners in several ways; however, cars have the ability to make a never fading mark on the minds of watchers.
