The upcoming generation of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been in the works for a while now, evident from the spy pictures that have surfaced in the recent past. The latest set of pictures shared on the web reveal the next-gen model in all its glory, which are likely to have been taken during a TVC shoot.
As seen in the spy images, the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio has an all-new design, which includes a single slat grille, new front bumper with a black insert, fog lights, new alloy wheels in a blacked-out finish, blacked-out B-pillars, body-coloured ORVMS and door handles, a new rear bumper with a number plate recess and reflectors, rear wiper and washer, an integrated spoiler, and wraparound tail lights.
Inside, the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio is expected to come equipped with a new three-spoke steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heavily reworked dashboard, a revised instrument console, and silver surrounds for the AC vents. The model will be based on the company’s Heartect platform.
Powering the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio could be a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre K10B petrol engine that produces 67bhp and 90Nm of torque. A five-speed manual unit is expected to be standard while an AMT unit and a CNG variant cannot be ruled out at the moment either. Upon launch, the new Celerio will rival the Hyundai Santro, Renault Kwid, and the Tata Tiago.
