The 2016 Chevrolet Trailblazer has been spied testing ahead of its scheduled launch in India during this year's festive season. To be brought via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, the Trailblazer will be assembled at General Motors’ Halol production plant.
Based on GM’ ladder frame chassis, the Trailblazer will feature a dual-tone black and beige interior, premium upholstery, Chevrolet’s MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with iOS and Android support, a dash camera with 32GB memory, reversing camera with chromatic LCD monitor and rear view mirror. The SUV will be capable to accommodate seven passengers with ease. Safety features such as ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution system), ESC (electronic stability control), airbags for driver and co-passenger, hill descent control, engine drag control and traction control will also be on offer.
Coming to the dimensions, the Trailblazer will measure 4,878mm in length, 1,902mm in width and 1,834mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,870mm. Power for the Trailblazer will come from a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that develops a maximum power of 200bhp and 470Nm of torque. While the global base variant of the SUV is available with a 6-speed manual transmission, the top-end model, which has been spied, will get a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV will be available with 2Wd and 4WD drivetrain capabilities.
The Chevrolet Traiblazer will rival the Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero and Toyota’s upcoming new-gen Fortuner MPV and Ford Endeavour SUV.
