      Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe Rendered

      Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the launch of the GLC Coupe, along with the recently unveiled 2016 GLC SUV. The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe was showcased as a concept at the 2015 Auto Shanghai.

      Seen here's the rendering image of the GLC Coupe that will borrow its sloping roof-line from its larger sibling – the GLE Coupe. It is likely to get a sporty front fascia and stance with wider track, and edgy LED tail-lamps. From inside, the Coupe will look identical to the Mercedes GLC that took its design inspiration from the C-Class. Features like performance-themed interior shades, sporty seats and dashboard trims will be shared with the upcoming C-Class Coupe. Other features on list will include ARTICO leather seat upholstery with contrast stitching, COMAND infotainment system and a Head-Up display.

      The GLC Coupe will be powered with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines that also do duty to the regular GLC. The GLC 220 d base variant develops 170bhp and 400Nm of torque, the GLC 250 offers 204bhp and 500Nm, the GLC 250 petrol outputs 211bhp and 350Nm and top-end GLC 350 e plug-in hybrid produces 327bhp. A Mercedes GLC 450 AMG Sport with 3.0-litre V6 engine and Mercedes – AMG GLC 63 with a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine will also be on offer. The standard models will be offered with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, while the hybrid variant will get a 7G-TRONIC Plus gearbox.

      Though, the company hasn’t yet confirmed whether it will launch the GLC Coupe in India or not. If launched, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe will rival the Ranger Rover Evoque, BMW X3, X4 and Porsche Macan.
