      Nissan to launch Datsun GO+ MPV in early 2015

      Nissan will launch the second product from its Datsun brand- the Go+ MPV in the Indian car market in the first half of 2015. The vehicle is already on sale in Indonesia market, and has received an excellent response from buyers. Nissan unveiled the Dastun Go+ MPV at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, and it was speculated to be launched by festive season. However, the vehicle would go on sale in the first half of next year.

      Nissan revived its low cost brand- Datsun to increase its sales in growing nations including India. The company is aiming to secure 8 per cent market share in the country, and Nissan is betting big on Datsun products. Speaking to PTI, Nissan India operations President Guillaume Sicard, said "The Datsun GO+ will be launched in the first part of next year,”.

      The Datsun Go+ MPV measures less than 4 metre, and will take on the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Honda Mobilio. It is expected to be the cheapest MPV in its class and is likely to be tagged around Rs. 5-7 lakh.

      The Datsun Go+ MPV is 3,995mm long, 1635mm wide and 1,485mm tall, and it comes with a large wheelbase of 2,450mm. The front fascia of the car largely resembles the Go hatchback, while the side profile of the car looks identical to its sibling till the C-pillar. The vehicle will be offered in petrol version, which is equipped with a 1.2-litre motor that also powers the Go. The company might also introduce the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine; however, nothing has been confirmed on the same.
