The Ciaz sedan from Maruti Suzuki launched today, has been one of the most awaited launch from the India's largest carmaker's production line. During launch Kenichi Ayukawa, MD and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India said, “The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is the car for customers who are looking to upgrade to a premium mid-sized sedan.” The all new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been launched in four Petrol trims at an introductory prices like VXi - Rs. 6.99 lakh, VXi+ - Rs. 7.55 lakh, ZXi - Rs. 8.24 lakh, ZXi (O) - Rs. 8.59 lakh, VXi AT - Rs. 8.65 lakh and ZXi AT - Rs. 9.34 lakh. The new Maruti Ciaz is also available in four diesel trims at indtroductory prices like VDi - Rs. 8.04 lakh, VDi+ - Rs. 8.63 lakh, ZDi - Rs. 9.45 lakh and ZDi (O) - Rs. 9.80 lakh.
The new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz's petrol trims are powered by 1.4-litre K-Series engine. The petrol variant generates a power output of about 94 bhp with 130 Nm of torque. The diesel trims of Maruti Ciaz shall be powered by 1.3 Liter multijet engine that delivers 89bhp of power with 200Nm of torque. Both the petrol and diesel trims are mated with 5-speed manual transmission, whereas the petrol trim is also available with a four speed automatic transmission. Earlier, Honda's City claimed to be country's most fuel efficient sedan at 25.8 kmpl, but now as per ARAI certification the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz delivers 26.21 kmpl.
The Ciaz sedan Maruti Suzuki is set as a competitor against Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Fiat Linea, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Verna. Features are something that is worth a mention in the new Ciaz. The base models of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sedan namely the VXi and VDi trims are loaded with features like projector headlamps, keyless entry, audio system with USB, fabric upholstery front and rear armrests, aux-in and card reader, and indicator mated electrically-adjustable wing mirrors. Whereas, the VXi+ and VDi+ variants have received features like climate control, Audio system with Bluetooth, height adjustability for the driver’s seat, parking sensors, and steering-mounted controls. For additional safety, the high end trims get features like EBD, ABS and airbags.
