Nissan Micra, the hatchback car, which until the arrival of sedan Sunny, was the Japanese auto giant's best selling car in India and a major contributor to the company's overall sale in the country is all set to get a facelift. The much anticipated facelifted Micra is likely to derive its design cues from the Nissan EXTREME concept, which was unveiled at the Sao Paulo Motor Show in early 2012. The company says that the EXTREME's styling gives a look into its future model, which would be launched in Brazil and abroad. Therefore, it wouldn't be wrong to anticipate the facelifted Micra to borrow some design cues from the EXTREME.

The Micra, which is available throughout the world in around 180 countries was launched in India in the year 2010. The car is known for its appealing looks, ease of handling and superior performance and have a large number of fans located all around the world. The Micra presently available in India is the fourth generation car and if reports are to be believed, the country may soon have the facelifted Micra.

It is expected that the facelifted Micra would only be mild in nature and would have the same curvy and retro looks. The car would have a more premium exterior; though, the technical specifications of Micra are likely to remain same.

The hatchback Micra is available in India in both the petrol and diesel variants at a very competitive price. While the base petrol variant comes with a price tag of Rs. 4.3 lakhs, the diesel variant starts at Rs. 6 lakhs. The diesel variant is known for its impressive mileage of 23 kmpl. Since it has been two and a half year since the Micra was launched and the car has never undergone any sort of facelift, buyers in the country had been longing for Micra with new looks. The facelifted Micra would, therefore, fulfil the desires of Indian buyers and is expected to lure a good number of buyers.
