MINI has unveiled a new version of Countryman which was due to be revealed at the 2014 New York Motor Show. The tweaked version of MINI Countryman sports various cosmetic and mechanical changes. MINI plans to launch the new avatar of Countryman crossover across global automotive markets by third quarter.
Facelifted Countryman crossover will get a new fascia sharing striking resemblance from the one sported by new MINI launched in 2013. Among other revivification, a restyled grille, LED daytime running lights and alloy wheels donning new design are included. MINI proffers various customizable options across its line-up, some of the bespoke options that will be offered on the new Countryman, the vehicle will also be made available in three colours; Jungle Green metallic, Midnight Grey metallic and Starlight Blue metallic.
An exquisite MINI connected in-car infotainment system will be seen, besides this, a reworked instrument cluster and chrome glutted switchgear will also be equipped inside the car. There will be no changes in the mechanical front, the vehicle will be powered with the same set of four cylinder petrol and diesel engines as in the outgoing version. However, the company is said to have tuned the 1.6 litre motor to deliver enhanced performance anddrivability. The 1.6 motor is the same mill that currently powers the Countryman S. The company has confirmed that launch of the new variants will be slated for July 2014. MINI will also be launching John Cooper Works Countryman during the same time period.
