A few years back, Suzuki and Toyota had entered into a cross-badging agreement. So far, the Toyota Glanza and the Urban Cruiser have been two popular rebadged versions from Maruti Suzuki. Considering the strong demand for mid-size SUVs, both brands have been working on a new mid-size SUV. This time around, the upcoming mid-size SUV has been spied testing for the first time.
The test mules have been heavily camouflaged, however, it does reveal a few details. As seen in the images, the upcoming mid-size SUV will get a few differentiating styling elements. One of the test mules sports a mesh grille and is complemented by split headlamps setup. This particular test model also features dual-tone alloy wheels, high-mount stop lamp, rear wiper, and turn indicators on the ORVMs.
The second test mule is believed to be the base version as it rides on a set of steel wheels. However, this version is likely to offer DRLs on either side of the large mesh grille and is flanked by bumper-mounted headlamps. Based on the images, this model is expected to get turn-indicators on the ORVMs shark fin antenna, and more.
Mechanical details are not known for now, however, it is believed that the upcoming model might be powered by the existing 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine. This engine currently serves the Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, S-Cross, and the XL6. More details in this regard will be known soon.
