India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch 6 new cars in the price bracket of Rs. 6 lakhs to Rs. 14 lakhs in the next 2 years. MSI is known for making budget friendly cars; however, the company is now aiming to conquer the growing segments like mid-sized sedan, compact SUV and hot hatch.

Earlier, Maruti launched the SX4 sedan, Kizashi and other cars which failed to generate sales in the Indian market. With the growing demand for premium cars in the country, Maruti Suzuki is now looking to introduce a new range of vehicles in the next couple of years.

Maruti will launch the Swift and Dzire facelifts and the Ciaz mid-sized sedan this year. The Ciaz will come as a replacement for the ageing SX4 sedan and it will be launched by the festive season. Early next year, the S-Cross SX4 will make its entry into the Indian market. It will compete against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV500.

Moreover, Maruti Suzuki will also launch a compact SUV based on the XA Alpha concept. A premium hatchback, codenamed YRA, is also under development which is likely to go on sale by the end of 2015. We believe that the company might also bring the Swift Sport, which was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show.
