As we reported earlier, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) had announced its plan to bring-in 15 products – 7 all-new models and 8 facelifts - in 2015. One of those products will be the successor of the Honda CB Twister which is likely to be called the 'Livo'. And the reason we say this is because of the fact that a latest mule of the car features a Livo badge.
To be positioned between the Honda Dream Yuga and the CB Shine 125, the Livo will compete against the Hero Passion Pro, Mahindra Centuro, TVS Start City+ and others in the segment. Powering the new Livo will be a 110cc, air-cooled engine that will be mated to a 4-speed transmission. It’s the same engine that powers the CB Twister. It is capable to produce a maximum power of 9bhp and 8.97Nm of torque. Unlike the CB Twister, the Livo will use the HET (Honda Eco Tech) efficiency enhancing measures.
This premium commuter will feature a unique styling with a new fairing, side cowls, well-accentuated fuel tank extensions, new brake light and tailpiece. The twin hexagonal instrument pods and silencer with chrome insert will add more to its sporty appeal. The bike will sit on a steel tubular diamond chassis, and equipped with telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers suspensions on front and rear axles respectively. Just like the test mule, the final version too might get drum brakes on both front and rear wheels. Though, Honda might offer front disc brake with the top-model of the bike.
The Honda Livo is expected to be priced within range of Rs. 50, 000 – Rs. 55, 000 (ex-showroom).
