BMW India has launched the updated version of the MINI Countryman at Rs. 36.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Since the company had discontinued its local assembly, the 2015 Mini Countryman will be imported to India as CBU (completely built up) unit. The new Countryman receives minor exterior and interior updates. Though, there is no mechanical change made to the car.
The 2015 Mini Countryman features a new dual-slat grille, daytime-running lamps, revised front and rear bumpers, fog lamps, 17-inches alloy wheels with slightly different design, roof caps in body color/ white/ black color options, side-skirts with silver faux skid-plates and guide lamps. Interior updates include new black or beige leather upholstery, auto air con, parking sensor, on-board computer, anti-loc braking system (ABS), run-flat indicator, stability and traction control, etc.
Power for the new Mini Countryman comes from a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder inline diesel engine which is the same that used to power the old model. This powertrain is mated to a 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission that helps the car deliver 112bh of power and 270Nm of torque between 1,750rpm -2,250rpm. It is claimed to accelerate 0-100kmph in 11.3 seconds. The car has an electronic speed limit of 185kmph.
