German carmaker Volkswagen has earned the title of being Europe's largest carmaker. For a while now the company has been working on undertaking cost cutting measures, and now, fresh reports have been emerging that the company may stop the production of two-door trims of the Polo hatchback. The carmaker has been planning on launching a completely new trim sometime in 2017 and as the demand for two door trims have been steadily dropping, the company might as well stop the production of the two-door trim.

The Polo hatchback has been carrying the Volkswagen flag for nearly four decades now and had also earned the title of being Europe's fourth best selling car. The company has recently been witnessing a drop in number of parts and hence has been planning on dropping unprofitable models such as Eos convertible. At the Geneva Auto Show, VW Chief Executive Martin Winterbourne said, “We are on track with our efficiency program.” Adding to it, a spokesman said, “there are no decisions yet”, when questioned on future line-up for Beetle and Polo models.

Volkswagen Polo in India has topped the customer satisfaction survey in India. The study was conducted across 30 cities wherein customers who purchased vehicles between November 2013 and July 2014 were surveyed. On achieving the JD Power honours, Ruediger Kasparek, Head, Quality Assurance, Volkswagen Group India, commented, “Volkswagen is synonymous with German engineering and quality. Our success registered through the JD Power APEAL and the JD Power IQS studies, emphasises how each and every aspect of the engineering of our cars translates into the highest level of customer satisfaction and quality that we aim to deliver. We are constantly taking feedback from our customers and implementing them in our products to make sure that they get nothing but the best,”
