Updated 2022 MG Gloster launched in India

An updated version of the MG Gloster has been launched in India with prices starting at Rs 31.99 lakh. On the outside, MG had updated the design for the alloy wheels while the interior, layout and design remains unchanged from the car that was launched in 2020.

The Gloster is available in six trim levels across six-seat and seven-seat options with only diesel power on offer. It is offered in four existing colours; Agate Red,Metal Black, Warm White, and Metal Ash and a new shade called Deep Golden.

On the outside, the updated MG Gloster gets LED headlamps, a three-slat grille with a chrome surround and contrast-coloured skid plates. On the side are the new chrome alloy wheels while at the rear MG has fitted the car with LED tail lights, and quad-tip exhausts.

Inside, the new MG Gloster comes equipped with over 75 new connected-car features. This list includes live weather updates, remote function for the music system, ambient lighting. All of these operate via the i-Smart 2.0 app.The existing Gloster’s Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) has additional first-in-segment features such as Door Open Warning (DOW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Lane Change Assist (LCA). The only powertrain is a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 161bhp/375Nm of torque for the 2WD versions and in the twin-turbo version produces 215bhp/480Nm. Both versions are offered only with an eight-speed automatic while the twin-turbo version also gets 4WD. The updated MG Gloster is a rival for the Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4, Skoda Kodiaq, and the Jeep Meridian.
