The German-based automobile company, Porsche unveiled its new 911 Carrera S at the highly anticipated Dubai International Motor Show, which commenced recently with several global launches. For the first time, the all new Porsche 911 Carrera S was showcased for the Middle East audience.

Redesigned after 48 years, the new Porsche 911 comes with a 100 mm longer wheelbase along with a structure that sits lower to the ground giving the car better handling dynamics. Under the hood, the new 911 Carrera S is powered with a 3.8-litre boxer engine that has a capacity of generating a maximum power of 400 bhp.

Managing Director, Porsche Middle East and Africa, George Wills commented, “To build a new 911 meant we had to redefine the epitome of a sports car. The research and development team practically started with a clean sheet of paper with a very simple aim: the new 911 must be – as always – the best new 911 of all time.”

The new 911 Carrera S is the first-of-its-kind passenger vehicle that features a seven-speed manual transmission, an auto start/stop function and an electro-mechanical power steering. Moreover, a new 'coasting function' also forms a part of the new 911 Carrera S.

The company has included its Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) in the new 911 Carrera S model. In addition, the Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) is a new feature making its debut in the S version. With an aluminium-steel construction, the overall weight of the new model has been reduced up to 45 kg and gives greater rigidity.

Concluding his statement, Wills said, “The new 911 Carrera is our approach to the preservation of tradition. It is precisely how we respond to the passion for the sports car and do justice to the 911 legend.”

Thus, the new 911 Porsche Carrera S model will carry forward the legacy of Porsche 911 model and is expected to garner success in the Middle East.
