Officials at Tata Motors have hinted at the launch of Tata Nano AMT version to be happening next month. AMT version will be bestowed on the F-Tronic variant of the petite hatchback. Under the hood, the same low displacement 624cc engine will be equipped as seen in the regular model of Nano F-Tronic. The two-cylinder petrol engine is capable of engendering a top power and torque output of 38 PS and 51 Nm respectively. A five-speed automated manual transmission will be paired with the petrol engine.Tatawill source AMT gearbox from Magneti Marelli, currently the F-Tronic variant comes with four-speed manual tranny.
On the exterior front, the hatchback will equipped with smoked head lights, revamped bumpers and a functional hatch door. Inside the cabin, a new three spoke steering wheel and new dashboard trims will be seen. The test mule of the AMT version of Nano has been spotted a number of times across Tata’s manufacturing unit located inPune. A hypothetical price of Rs 2.6lakhis being expected for the Nano AMT variant.
The company is also developing a 800 cc diesel engine, though there is yet not certainty whether this engine will be used in Nano diesel or not.
