      Tata Kite interior spied; Launch by the end of 2015

      In a bid to increase its market share, Tata Motors is planning to launch bunch of new products in India in the next two years. One of those products is the Tata Kite (codenamed) hatchback that has been spotted several times during its testing rounds. The hatchback is likely to be called the ‘Glade’.

      Tata Kite Production Front Spied

      Seen here are the spyshots of the production-ready Kite’s interior that reveal that the car features a 2 DIN music system, center console with rectangular AC vents, a three-spoke steering wheel and a low-positioned instrument cluster. Based on the XO platform, the hatchback will be powered with an all-new a 1.05-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine, and the Bolt’s 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine. The former will produce an estimated power of 70bhp with a peak torque of 140Nm, while the latter delivers a maximum power of 88.8bhp with 140Nm of torque. Transmissions on offer could be a manual and an AMT (automated manual transmission). An E-clutch system might also be on offer.

      Tata Kite Production Interior Spied

      To be positioned below the Bolt, the Tata Kite will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Grand i10 and Chevrolet Beat. Expected to be launched by the end of 2015, the Kite will be offered within the price bracket of Rs. 3.50 lakh – Rs. 5 lakh (ex-showroom).

      For people not in the know, the home-grown automaker will also bring-in a Tata Kite sub-compact sedan that might replace the Indigo eCS. The sub-compact sedan will share the platform and engines with the Kite hatchback. It is expected to go on sale by the early 2016.
