When i40 was being developed it was known by its code name 'VF' and it is speculated that Blue Drive eco-program along with power train line-up would be introduced with this car for the first time. This step would help improve on-road performance, fuel efficiency and will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Ford Mondeo and Volkswagen Passat would face stiff competition with the arrival of i40. This car will find resemblance with the discontinued model of Hyundai, Sonata and has been designed at Germany research premises of Hyundai Motors Company.

No news has been confirmed about the exact date of launch of Cervo but there are speculations that it could be promoted on the lines of M800. The exterior appearance of Cervo resembles its rivals, Chevrolet Beat and Honda Jazz. It is anticipated to line up along side Alto 800 and would give tough competition to Hyundai Eon and Tata Nano. Rumours suggest that the model would be a little pricier than Nano but would be in the range of Rs. 2 lakh.
