Maruti Suzuki is considered as the most dependable brand since decades. In 1982 when the first plant of this firm was set in Gurgaon, no one knew that this auto maker would reach the apex of success in the automobile industry. From the times of 800, its first car, this is one firm that has maximum number of trusted and satisfied number of clients. Maruti Suzuki Swift came out in the market in 2005 and ruled the sales charts as it happened to be the first of its kind. A few years later in 2008, the firm came out with Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire and from then on, this car has been receiving good response from the customers.

There is no doubt that the car has been a favourite in its segment and the fact became clearer when Maruti Suzuki informed that both, Swift and Swift DZire have run out of stock. Both of these models have been best selling ones and are produced at the Manesar plant of Maruti Suzuki. However, the company has ruled out the stoppage of bookings.

“We do not have any stock of Swift and DZire at our factory. About 10,000 cars of both the models are on transit and that is the inventory at present," said Mayank Pareek, Chief Operating Officer (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited. He also added that the customers and dealers have already been intimated about the situation and despite this, if they are interested to book cars then it would only show the significance and strength of their brand. The company is quite confident about customers being loyal to them because the bookings did not stopped during the strikes that took place last year.

Their rivals are sure to take advantage of the situation and have offered discounts so as to lure the buyers. However, if reports are to be believed, even after all this, the demand for their cars in this crucial time has not fallen. It was informed that booking order for Swift is 55,000 units and 65,000 for DZire. 80 per cent of the total bookings is for the diesel variants. SX4 and A-Star models that are also manufactured in the Manesar plant have no backlog for orders. When questioned about time required to clear the backlogs, the company said it would take around four to six months.

Maruti Suzuki DZire has been a very successful variant in the compact sedan segment though the launch of Honda Amaze has brought in tough competition for it. DZire has a typical Japanese sedan design that has an abrupt ending to it at the rear end. However, the design gives a great finish to the wheels. Priced in the range of Rs. 5-7 lakh, it comes in petrol as well as diesel variant. K-series engine is used in the petrol version of the car i.e. 1.2-litre K12 petrol engine that gives a power of 86 bhp at 6000 rpm and a torque output of 114 Nm at 4000 rpm. 19.1 kmpl is the mileage figure that is produced when using a petrol DZire model. The 1.3-litre diesel engine gives a mileage of 23.4 kmpl on highways. High fuel efficiency is a consequence of DDiS engine with superior CRDI fuel injection system combined with turbocharger and inter cooler that provides efficient combustion of each and every drop of fuel.
