Renault Duster has always been the preferred choice ever since its inception in the country a while ago. The SUV during its launch, was offered at a lucrative price tag, with add-on factors like quality build and reliability assurance by the carmaker. Gone are the days when Renault Duster had to compete with Ford Ecosport, off late many other car-makers have attempted to tap this compact SUV segment with much vigor. As per sources, the new car is expected to be powered with 1.6 litre engine that generates about 105 Hp at 5,750 rpm and produces a maximum torque of 148 Nm at 3,750 rpm. It is also said that the car may feature double optic headlamps with LED daytime running lights, and a redesigned front grill with new air intake system. On the interiors, seats have been redesigned for better comfort and the dashboard features a smarter appeal. It is worth noting that this year is slated for new launches of highly anticipated cars like the Honda Vezel and XA Alpha, its definitely a right time for Duster to come out with an upgraded version.

As per sources, the Indian car manufacturer Mahindra plans to unveil its new face-lifted version of Scorpio sometime in the middle of 2014. The changes are expected to be purely cosmetic in nature and the engine shall be retained with the existing line of 2.2 litre M-Hawk turbo diesel engine. It is anticipated that the power and torque figures could be increased from the existing 120 bhp with 290 Nm of torque to 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque.

Prior to Renault Duster days, it was the Mahindra Scorpio that held the market strongly and was the preferred choice among the masses. Renault Duster definitely has good sales numbers to its credit, but Mahindra's Scorpio isn't far behind. The competition is definitely strong, it would be worth watching when two warriors battle it out head-on!
