In an interesting development, the design of 2016 Honda Civic has been leaked on the internet through patent sketches, sources have claimed. According to a report by civicX.com, the new sedan was previewed at the 2015 New York Auto Show as a surprise coupe concept. Analysts have tried to gauge the changes that will be present in the tenth generation of Honda’s top performing sedan.

As per the sketches, the new Civic will feature the styling cues of the concept but with some changes. Reports suggest that Honda will introduce the new Civic in coupe, sedan, hatchback, type R and Si versions around the world. Notably, the coupe and sedan versions will come with the rear spoiler, which was present on the concept vehicle preview in New York earlier during the month.

The front fascia of new Honda Civic, to a large extent, retains the original charm and features beautifully designed chrome inserts along with a sporty bumper. Roofline of the new tenth generation Honda Civic has a smooth arch-type shape and the addition of a rear quarter glass panel lends an air of sharpness to the appearance of the sedan. Next-generation Honda Civic has a well-sculpted rear fascia that comprises hexagonal license plate enclosure, C-shaped taillights and bumper with artificial air intakes.

Officials from Honda have made it clear that the new Civic is going to come with a long wheelbase and short overhangs, thereby improving on the current generation model. Experts believe that interiors of the new Honda Civic will come loaded with a large number of features. In terms of mechanics, new Honda Civic is expected to be fitted with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed manual/CVT automatic transmission system. In the usual way, the Japanese car maker will launch Civic in the United States market first and then it could make its way to other countries including India.
