The Indian unit of the Japanese auto giant Nissan is planning to launch a new entry level sedan in the Indian market which will be competing with the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire and Toyota Etios. Excited with the response received by their mid size sedan Sunny, the company now looking forward to roll-out a few more new segment models in the country.
At present, Maruti Swift Dzire is the segment leader in the entry level sedan segment where it is enjoying a waiting period of up to 6 month. The car outsells most of the models of even hatchback segment.
The new starting rage sedan of Nissan India will be based on the platform of hatchback Micra. However, the company is yet to reveal any details related to specification and timeline of the launch of this car in the country.
Besides this, the company is gearing up to roll-out a series of new car models in the country in the near future including Multi Purpose vehicle Evalia, a new Sports Utility Vehicle based of Duster, and an automatic variant of Sunny sedan.
