The company will offer its new vehicle in four different variants, namely Nissan Evalia XE, XE+, XL and XV. All of these variants are powered by a similar 1.5 litre Nissan K9K engine, which has displacement of 1461 cc. The maximum power produced by the engine of 2012 Evalia MPV will stand at 85 bhp with a peak torque of 200 Nm. In order to add to the efficiency of this engine, the company has assimilated it with a performance oriented five speed manual transmission system, which features smooth and hassle free switch between the gears.

The interesting thing about Evalia will be its sliding doors, the concept that went invisible after Maruti Omni, which offers a much more ease in getting in and out from the vehicle. Sources also revealed that the model will be significantly lighter than its same segment rivals, Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. The exteriors of upcoming model will feature body coloured bumpers as well as electronically controlled outer rear view mirrors, which will add to its overall appealing design.

In order to lure a large number of buyers, the company has aggressively designed the interiors of Evalia car, accompanied by a lot of features. Being an urban vehicle, Evalia will feature tilt power steering, seat back table, sun visor for driver as well as passenger and reclining all seats. Besides, Nissan has incorporated several safety advancements within its vehicle, ensuring complete safety of its occupants. Advancements like airbags for driver and passengers, Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), engine immobiliser and door ajar warning system will be offered within the upcoming Evalia as a part of standard accessory.

Considering all the aforementioned features, commenting that the vehicle is overpriced with a tag of around Rs. 8.5 lacs will not do justice. With this economical pricing, it seems that the auto maker is all prepared to grab a decent share in the Indian auto market as Nissan’s earlier launch, Scala, was also able to pull the masses.
