Czech car manufacturer, Skoda is working on the next-generation 2016 Superb sedan. The 2016 Skoda Superb luxury saloon is likely to make its global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. With the next generation Saloon, the company will further push its philosophy of making more practical cars by adding space to the interiors. The Skoda’s flagship saloon will be based on the MQB platform, and is expected to be larger than before. Its wheelbase is likely to be longer than the 2015 Volkswagen Passat.

If media reports are to be believed, the 2016 Superb would offer a larger wheelbase than the current model. This indicates a more spacious and practical cabin. Despite being a large wheelbase, the new model will be a sub-5 metre product. Likely to share its design cues with the Vision C Concept, the next Superb might get an aggressive front fascia and LED headlamps. Aggressive creases and curves all around the car is also on cards.

The 2016 Skoda Superb sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel motors. Set to get turbocharged units, the engine line-up will be shared with the 2015 VW Passat. Like the engine spec, both models will also share the manual and DSG twin clutch automatic transmissions. The Indian-spec model is expected to get the same 1.8L TSI turbo petrol and the 2.0 TDI turbo diesel units. A six-speed manual gearbox will come as standard, while the 6-speed and 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox will also be on offer.
