New Maruti Swift, one of the most awaited compact hatchbacks in the Indian market, seems to be spreading magic even before its launch in the country. As per recent unconfirmed media reports, more than 25,000 units of the new Swift have already been booked, even before its official launch. The car is scheduled to be launched on August 17th.
The hype before the launch shows the impeccable faith of Indian buyers in brand Maruti. The company is yet to reveal the pricing and specification details of the car in the Indian market. The new model promises better fuel economy along with improved power and torque characteristics.
Earlier this month, Maruti Suzuki had stopped the production of older version of Swift along with opening bookings for the upcoming new Swift. The new Swift will be launched in both petrol and diesel versions and will be carrying a number of new features that were missed in the older version.
With the launch of new model, the Swift series will be enabled to compete more promptly with its new age competitors including Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra, Chevrolet Beat and Toyota Etios Liva.
