Ahead of its launch in July, 2015, the next-generation Honda Jazz has been spotted standing in a yard. Set to rival against the Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Volkswagen Polo, the new Jazz will be manufactured at the company’s Tapukara facility in Rajasthan with a high-level of localization.
The snapped car is the top-end variant (VX) of the hatchback that features electrically adjustable ORVM with turn indicators, new 16-inch alloy rims, a rear windshield wiper/ washer with integrated turn signals and fog lamps. Other exterior updates include a chrome grille, body-colored door handles, new 5x2 spoke alloys, roof spoiler with stop light and chromed rear registration plate enclosure.
The interior of the Jazz will be inspired from the new Honda City sedan. The top-spec model will get a dual tone (black and beige) interior with leather wrapped multifunction steering wheel and gearlever, an AVN (audio visual navigation) and a touch panel for automatic climate control. Features like Bluetooth-enabled infotainment system, steering mounted controls and keyless entry will also be on offer.
The new-gen Jazz will be available in two engine options – a 1.2-litre i-VTEC, four-cylinder petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. The former will produce a maximum power of 87bhp and 109Nm of torque, while the latter one will offer 99bhp and 200Nm. The petrol variants will be offered with a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox options, whereas the diesel versions will get a 5-speed and a 6-speed manual transmissions.
To be made available in four variants – E, S, V and VX – the new-generation Honda Jazz is expected to be priced within the range of Rs. 5.5 lakh – Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
