The talks between Maruti management and workers at its Manesar plant failed to reach any fruit full result on Monday, as none of the workers and management wanted to move from the stance taken earlier. The strike, that has already incurred huge losses for the company, entered in its 29th day on Monday. The stand-off started on August 29th when the company locked-its employees out of the plant when they refused to sign the ‘good conduct bond’ brought by the company.

The previous meeting had failed when the company's recognized workers body (Maruti Udyog Kamgar Union) came on behalf of the agitating workers. The fresh rounds of talks are expected to take place today.

In a statement given on Monday, the company's recognized workers' body -- Maruti Udyog Kamgar Union (MUKU), said that the union has asked the management to try to resolve the issue at the earliest. The union has announced to be observing a hunger strike tomorrow in support of the striking colleagues at the Maruti’s Manesar plant. He added, "We have given a notice to the management about the hunger strike in support of Manesar colleagues, but production will carry on as usual."

Meanwhile, the bookings of the Maruti’s popular hatchback Swift, production of which has been badly affected due to this strike, has crossed the 1,00,000 units mark. Despite the continuously rising waiting period, more and more buyers are reaching Maruti showrooms to book the new age Swift.
