      The above image shows Akshat Gupt and Manoti Jain, the winners of the Nano Short Film Competition, being felicitated with a movie making-kit worth Rs. 75,000 by Karl Slym, Managing Director, Tata Motors. Akshat Gupt's short film, Mr. & Mrs. Singh, which is a modern day love story of an elderly couple, received the highest viewership. The film is based on a theme that when it comes to love, people are no different from teenagers. Utkarsh Mazumdar and Dolly Thakore, the cute couple in the movie, takes the script of the movie to a new height.

      In the picture above are Jayesh Jain, Saurav Sharma, Vivek Sharma & Mr. Jitesh Sharma (Left to Right), receiving a DSLR camera from Karl Slym. They all bagged the second prize in the Nano Short Film competition organized by Tata. “Mumbai's Risky Rick”, a film by Saurav Sharma highlights the major faults in Mumbai's public transport system. On the other hand the short movie, “How no rickshaw driver is ready to go to the hospital, even when a person’s life is at stake” is indeed an eye opener.

      The Tata Nano Short Film competition, which received a tremendous response of 132 entries, was launched on June 5, 2012. Participants from all over the country came up with an interesting five-minute short film concept. From these entries, the best 11 ideas were short-listed and each team were given a Tata Nano for coming up with such brilliant ideas. The teams were also given additional support from professional studios, so that the films can be properly edited. Tata Nano, along with a panel of judges short listed the top five teams for the 'Nano Short Film Contest'.

      These five films named Jhadav Pahije Ka (by Akash Motiani), Sweetie te Rajjo (by Udit Jawarani), Mr. & Mrs. Singh (by Akshat Gupt), Wish (by Shivendu Kudalkar) and Mumbai’s Risky Rick (by Saurav Sharma), were even posted on Youtube.

      All these five films were liked by the viewers with Mr. & Mrs. Singh and ‘Mumbai’s Risky Rick’ bagging the maximum views on You Tube. Tata Nano, following its long time strategy of resonating in things that the youths like, came up with 'Nano Short Film Contest'. Prior to this, the company had launched the Nano Merchandise online store on Ebay and had come up with a unique social road trip with MTV. Tata Nano is also among the most popular automobile facebook page, with more than 2 million fans.
