The newly launched automatic version of hatchback Brio from the stables of Honda looks to be the prime choice in this category. The automatic Brio is available in the country in two trims – S(O) and V and comes with a price tag between Rs. 5.74 lacs and Rs. 5.99 lacs (ex-Delhi), which is around Rs. 75,000 more than its manual sibling. The all new Brio automatic houses a 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine, the same as its manual variant, which churns out a maximum power of 86.79 bhp. Some of the salient features of the Honda Brio AT, apart from its engine, include decent fuel economy of 16.5 kmpl, easy to drive with a turning radius of merely 4.7 m and body coloured outside Rear View Mirrors, door handles and Door CTR Sash.

The other car that should certainly be looked at before buying an automatic car in the country is from the stables of Maruti Suzuki, the largest car maker of India. The Maruti Suzuki A-star is the perfect contender in this category, which is known for its cheeky looks and superb performance. This car comes in a new look from inside and is laden with a host of comfort features. The safety feature is also well taken care of and comes with dual airbags and also provides the option of ABS. The car delivers a decent mileage and the Maruti Suzuki A-star Vxi AT is priced at around Rs. 4.5 lacs. The host of comfort and safety features in automatic version at a nominal price is a good choice for the buyers.

Hyundai i10 Automatic is the other car that gives stiff competition to Brio as well as A-star. The i10 Automatic is a small car with 4 speed Automatic transmission, which is available at a very attractive price. Hyundai i10 Automatic car is powered by a 1.2L 16V DOHC Kappa Engine that makes low vibration and low noise. Some other noticeable features of i10 Automatic include automatic gear shifting, availability in Magna, sports and Asta versions and its small size, which makes it easy to drive even in congested city roads.

All these three cars are laden with a good number of features and come in automatic versions. The fuel economy of all three are equally good; however, the Brio looks to take an edge over the other two but that comes at a little higher price tag.
