      Marutis November sales dip over 18 percent

      The Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki has registered a sharp fall of 18.46 percent in its total sales during the month of November 2011. The company sold a total of 91,772 units of its car in the Indian market during this month as compared to 1,12,554 units sold in the same month last year.

      In the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 82,870 units of its cars during November as compared to 1,02,503 units sold in the same month last year, accounting for a sales decrease of 19.15 per cent during the month. The total passenger car sales in the domestic market stood at 73,078 units during this month as compared to 87,618 units sold in the same month last year, accounting for a sales fall of 16.59 per cent.

      Going in the same line, the exports of the company dipped to 8,902 units during the month of November as compared to 10,051 units dispatched to the overseas markets in November 2010.

      The same of mini – segment of cars (including Alto, A-Star and Wagon R) stood at 38,921 units as compared to 53,489 units sold in the same month last year, registering a drop of 27.24 per cent. On the other hand, the compact segment of cars (including Estillo, Swift and Ritz) registered a fall of 3.72 percent to 22,159 units as compared to 23,014 units sold in the same month last year. However, the sales of entry level sedan Swift Dzire increased 6.04 per cent to 10,403 units as compared to 9,810 units sold in the same month last year. The company sold 1,433 units of SX4 sedan and 162 unit of luxury car Kizashi during the month.
