India's leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki has thrilled the audiences last year with the launch of Celerio AMT in the country. This year the company plans to take the Celerio popularity to a whole new level by introducing the diesel trim of the vehicle sometime soon. The diesel version is likely to be powered by a 800cc engine that may first find place in Maruti Suzuki's upcoming LCV vehicle and then be used in the Celerio trim. The company has not officially revealed the technical specifications for now, but it is likely that the vehicle's new engine with a turbocharger may generate a power output of about 50 Bhp.
The upcoming Celerio diesel is likely to deliver a fuel efficiency figure of about 30 kmpl which would indeed make it the highest fuel efficient vehicle in the country. As of now, the record is held by Maruti's recently launched Ciaz sedan that reportedly delivers about 26 kmpl. Based on anticipation the vehicle is likely to be launched sometime during the festive season this year.
