Popular commercial vehicle maker Force Motors has stated its plans to set-up a new manufacturing facility in Chakan near Pune. The upcoming plant is likely to used manufacturing wide variety of parts including gearboxes, engines and axles that have an annual capacity of about 50,000 sets. A circular released by the company in this regard states that, “The company already owns the land and necessary steps to convert the use of the land and obtain necessary permissions for construction and establishment of such a factory are being taken.”
As of now the company has two plants in the country one being in Pune which is for production of small commercial vehicles and tractors, whereas the Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh is used for the manufacture of SUVs, MUVs and other commercial vehicles. The company's circular states that the company already owns a piece of land and has already received the necessary permissions to go ahead with the plant set-up. The company had also revealed its plans to invest about Rs. 1000 crore over the next four year period for setting-up a dedicated facility that can be used for product development and assembling engines of BMW facility.
