Maruti Suzuki is known to produce cars of superior make for quite a number of years now. Its cars have been best-selling models in the Indian market with the sales reports surpassing all records. This has helped it to stay at the top of the car manufacturers’ heap. It has improved its position in respect of market shares overall as well as in the passenger segment. Recently it ended the financial year 2013-14 at an all-time high with a market share of 50 per cent. This has also boosted the company to introduce new cars from time to time.
In this context, Maruti Suzuki is under the process of developing a new sedan, which is based on the 2016 Swift. However, the only point of difference will be that the new variant will be a premium car, whereas the 2016 Swift will have dimensions of less than four metre. The new car will get placed in between the Dzire and the newly-launched Ciaz. However, the current Ciaz is a specific model for India; the new version is expected to be a global car. It will run on the same engine that is employed in the 2016 Swift hatchback. There might be an additional automatic transmission option.
Definitely, this car will replace the Maruti Suzuki SX4. There are speculations that this car will be manufactured in India. Also, this model will be exported abroad. The detailed specifications and features have not yet made it to the market, but shall be released soon.
