India’s leading utility vehicle maker, Mahindra is planning to launch a series of new utility vehicles in the country in a next couple of years. The company will launch the Scorpio facelift by festive season and Quanto AMT by year end. Mahindra is also working on a new generation Bolero, which is scheduled to go on sale by late 2015.

If media reports are to be believed, Mahindra is considering a new MPV which will replace the ageing Xylo MPV. It has been a while since Mahindra has been testing its new mini SUV, codenamed S101, which is likely to be launched by the mid-2015. The sub-4 metre SUV will compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport and Tata’s upcoming Nexon concept based SUV, and it will share its styling cues with the XUV500. The Mahindra S101 is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-pot petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Mahindra is also testing the new generation Bolero, codenamed U301, which will come in various body lengths including a sub-4 metre version. This model will be based on the hydro-formed ladder frame chassis and is likely to share its engine lineup with the Quanto.

The Scorpio facelift gets changes to both exteriors and interiors. It is equipped with a new hood scoop and a newly designed alloy wheels. The front grille and bumpers have been redesigned, flanked by HID/Projector headlamps instead of regular bulbs. Inside, the steering wheel is directly lifted from the XUV500 while the newly designed Air-con vents have chrome embellishments.
