Jaguar that revealed the 2016 XJ facelift on June 15, 2015, has now imported the sedan for the homologation purpose in India. This indicates that the company might soon launch the vehicle in the country (probably in festive season). The 2016 Jaguar XJ facelift will make its first public appearance at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The imported model is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder in-line petrol engine that puts out a maximum power of 237bhp and 340Nm of torque. The sedan will also continue to feature the 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that does duty to the existing model. Though, Jaguar will tune this engine for extra power and torque outputs. It is expected to deliver an estimated power of 296bhp and 700Nm of torque. Whereas, the existing unit offers 270.88bhp and 600Nm of torque. Transmission on offer will be an 8-speed ZF automatic. The updated model is claimed to get a new and more responsive electronic power steering.

Though, the vehicle's cabin too has received more comprehensive changes. It gets an 8-inch infotainment system with Jaguar’s InControl Touch Pro system, new seat upholstery, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster with navigation display, and few more cosmetic updates.

Upon its launch, the 2016 Jaguar XJ facelift will take on the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8.
