Jaguar, the British luxury car manufacturer, has unveiled the highly rated Jaguar XE sedan at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. The new entry-level luxury sedan made its global debut last year and will compete against the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Audi A4 globally.

Based on the new modular architecture, the Jaguar XE sedan gets the familiar face with short front overhang, long hood and cab rearward stance. The driving position is lower and sporty, and has a sloping roofline to give it a coupe-like feel. It is the first Jaguar developed from JLR’s new modular vehicle architecture, and the same platform will also be used in future Jaguar’s. The vehicle is equipped with large front air intakes, chrome side vents and discreet rear spoiler. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet is the highly fuel efficient 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol and diesel units, coupled to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. The oil burner is claimed to deliver an excellent mileage of 25kmpl. The performance model gets the supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine that is good for 340PS and 450Nm of torque. This engine is clubbed to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
