Honda Cars India recently introduced new top end trims for the Amaze and Brio hatchback. Now, the company is planning to introduce the CNG equipped variant of the Amaze in the country. The Amaze CNG has already been spotted testing on Indian roads, and is likely to hit Indian shores in the first half of 2015. Adding to it, the Japanese maker will also launch the new generation Jazz in India by the second quarter of 2015.

Except for the CNG kit, the car will get no other update. However, the vehicle is likely to get CNG sticker at the rear. The boot will be used for the CNG kit. Moreover, the company is also planning to introduce the slightly modified version of the current model, which is likely to offer better NVH (Noise Vibration and Harshness) levels.

Currently, the Honda Amaze compact sedan is available in two engine options- Petrol and Diesel. While the petrol version of the sedan is propelled by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC unit that is good for 87bhp and 115Nm of torque, and is claimed to return an impressive mileage of 18kmpl. On the other hand, the oil burner is the 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit that is capable of producing a top power output of 99PS and 200Nm of peak torque. This engine gives a segment leading mileage of 25.8kmpl. The exact details for the CNG model are yet to be revealed, but we expect it to be priced around Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000 more than the petrol variant.
