Hyundai India, today, unveiled the rendering images of its all-new global compact SUV – the Creta. Scheduled to launch on July 21, 2015, the Creta will take on the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
Power for the Hyundai Creta will come from the Verna’s 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. Transmission on offer will be a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed manual transmission. A base trim with 1.4-litre diesel engine might also be on offer.
Coming to the dimension, the Creta will measure 270mm in length, 1780mm in width, 1630mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2590mm. Based on Hyundai’s next-generation Fluidic Sculpture Design philosophy, the compact SUV will feature projector headlights with LED daytime running lights, singular hexagonal radiator grille and diamond-cut 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the car will get a multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, smart entry with push button start and several other equipment. Features like ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) and dual airbags with an optional side and curtain airbags will also be on offer.
The company has already commenced the production of the Creta at its Chennai manufacturing plant. Aiming to acquire 10% market share in the UV segment, Hyundai India will offer the Creta compact SUV within the price bracket of Rs. 8 lakh – Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
