      Honda set to launch 10 more Scooters in 2015

      Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has made an announcement that approximately 10 new and upgraded products would be launched in 2015. Among these products, the first will be the recently unveiled CB Unicorn. The model will be available from January 2015. The interesting part is that not all bikes will be of the commuter category, but it will also consist of some performance models, as well. In this aspect, the year 2015 will definitely witness the launch of CBR650F as well as CBR500R.

      Keita Muramatsu, the President and CEO of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd said, “2014 marked a start of New Era for Honda in India. We have a made a good start. Honda grew at 25% in this fiscal year and gained customer trust in 2014. In 2015, Honda will excite Indian customers with more than 10 refreshed models and all new products, starting from the CB Unicorn 160cc in January. Aggressively making inroads in rural India and strengthening the Wing mark will be the key focus.”

      Y S Guleria, Vice President of the Sales and Marketing Department, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt said, “We are cautiously optimistic for 2015. Policy decisions on issues like 4% excise duty relief and government support to rural ecosystem which will go a big way in boosting sales and improve the industry sentiments paving the way for the next year. Still we are expecting two-wheeler industry to grow at lower double digit growth.”

      Honda has made a strong statement in the last calendar with almost a growth of 25 per cent. The company has sold over 28.24 lakh units, which is almost 50 per cent of the domestic two-wheeler industry. The year 2014 witnessed the launch of three new products in the Indian market – CD 110 Dream, Activa 125 and the flagship superbike Gold Wing 1800. On the other hand, the year 2015 will witness a plethora of products. The company is all set to develop the largest scooter in the world. This project will incur a total expense of 1100 crores INR.
