Tata Motors seems to have a liking for the aviator names as after their earlier Project Falcon, the company is ready to launch its new set of sedans and hatchbacks that have been codenamed as Kite. The two vehicles lined up in this project are expected to replace the Indigo eCS sedan and the Indica eV2 hatchback models.

The Kite is said to get its inspiration from the Megapixel concept that the manufacturers had launched back in 2002. It is expected that the car will have an eye-soothing design which will be better than that of Indica. The new design elements like the diamond window, a rising belt design and upgraded upholstery will be featured in this brand new version of the car. Though the Kite will not have a much higher design than its predecessor, it will have a silhouette that will reminisce the designs of Honda Brio into the minds of the people.

The Kite sedan, which will be replacing the Indigo, will have a sharper rake angle so that it could comply with the design proportions planned for the project. The interiors are also being planned to be upgraded, with a multi-information display, and will be backlight in white colour. Though the Kite hatchback and sedan will come in different genres, the same engine will be running both the vehicles on the road. Both the variants will have a 1.2L turbopetrol Revotron engine clearly for the petrol variants and a 1L engine for the diesel variants.

Those who want to purchase these new designs in the store of Tata Motors, will have to wait till the end of this year. Tata Motors, besides this Kite project, has also planned to launch a set of another hatchback and sedan, which will give a high competition to Honda’s best seller, Honda City. Tata Motors also has a couple of SUVs planned, but the design and other matters of these utility vehicles are still in the initial phase.
