Maruti Suzuki, the largest carmaker in the country has been well known in small car segment. With the launch of Ciaz a while ago, the brand has indeed been marking its presence felt in the mid-sized sedan segment as well. The Ciaz sedan has reportedly managed to sell over 50,000 units in just about 8 months period.
Speaking more on the occasion to ET, R S Kalsi, executive director for sales and marketing Maruti Suzuki said, “"In a normal course, 24% of our buyers explore offerings from competition, before deciding to opt for Maruti Suzuki badge. About 47% customers opted for Ciaz after exploring offerings from rivals. It shows our product strength, which is backed by a strong market campaign and a differentiated buying experience. This has helped us build decent volumes.” In the domestic market alone the company has managed to sell around 43,000 units, whereas 9,000 units have been shipped to the overseas market.
