For the Chinese market, the Superb will be available with a 1.4-litre and a 1.8-litre or a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine options. These powertrains will be mated to a DSG transmission, combined with the front wheels drive system. The top-end variant might also get a 4x4 variant of the car. For the Indian market, the luxury sedan will be offered with four-cylinder TSI and TDI engines. Skoda, at a later stage, might add a plug-in hybrid variant to the lineup.

The new Skoda Superb will be 75kgs lighter than the current model, thanks to the MQB (Modular Transverse Matrix) platform. The company claims that the new-gen model will be more spacious and comfortable than the existing one. The wheelbase and the elbow room of passenger compartment have been increased by 80mm and 69mm respectively. The cargo space, too, is extended to 625-litres from 595-litres.
