In the past few months, a lot of hype has been generated by the Auto Expo 2014 which is scheduled to be held in Greater Noida from February 6 to 11. It is being said that the upcoming motor show will provide host to all prominent automobile manufacturers from different parts of the world. In addition to it, a few new companies might be marking their presence at the mega event in order to start their operations in the Indian auto market. According to sources, the floor space at Auto Expo 2014 has already been sold out a few months back.
Speculating about the high turnout of car companies in the upcoming auto event, Sugata Sen, the Deputy Director General of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) was quoted as saying "Even as the Indian market is reeling under severe slowdown, we have seen an unexpected gush of auto makers. This(Auto Expo 2014) will mark the presence of large number of companies participating displaying of highest number of cars, bikes and other vehicles ever shown in India.”
Now to asses as to what companies might be featuring in Auto Expo 2014 apart from the follow up of unveiling and launches, a mash up of the upcoming motor show has been done. In the long list of new entrants, some of the major foreign companies that might make their debut at the Auto Expo 2014 are Datsun, Chrysler, Isuzu as well as bike manufacturer DSK Hyosung. Apart from it, the soon to be held auto expo might provide a good platform for domestic component manufacturing companies to expand their reach to various overseas markets.
It is likely that the Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) will steal the show at the Auto Expo 2014 as going by indications given by car makers. Auto enthusiasts in India are eagerly waiting for Chrysler owned Jeep brand to make its debut in the country. Once Jeep rolls into the Indian car market, it will infuse new blood to the premium off-roading SUV segment, which has been dominated by Land Rover.
According to industry experts, Maruti Suzuki, Honda and Datsun will be seen showcasing their new SUV models at the upcoming motor show. It is likely that the leading passenger car manufacturer of India, Maruti Suzuki might be showing it XA Alpha concept based SUV, which might make inroads in India during the latter stage of 2014. In addition, Japan based car maker Honda will be lifting the curtains of its new urban SUV. As far new companies are concerned, Datsun is in the pipeline to showcase its GO hatchback, which shall soon be followed by its launch. Chinese car manufacturer, Great Wall Motors will be showcasing its product line up meant for the Indian market for the first time in the Auto Expo 2014. In case of bike manufactures, South Korea brand Hyosung will be launching its new bikes in India.
